(Uruguay CNSAM). In Montevideo, Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in the “Tres Cruces” Church of the Nazarene the 1st Ministries Conference was held. The National SDMI (Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International) Coordinators and Communications accepted the challenge to organize said activity for those that were invited from the Churches of the Southern Uruguay District.
The 18 SDMI participants received training in the organization and administration of SDMI in the local church. The topics covered were: recruiting leaders and teachers, conducting meetings, budgets, ministries that SDMI integrates, resources for Sunday School and Discipleship, among others. The regional coordinator motivated the attendees to see Sunday School and Discipleship as biblical teaching for all ages.
For its part, the Communications Ministry, later gave an introductory lecture about communications by the regional coordinator, Adhemar Charlin developed the Photography workshop, the News workshop was taught by German Picavea, the Sound workshop was under the responsibility of Kevin Santuch and Arturo Gasca was in charge of the Multimedia workshop. At the end of the Conference, the 25 participants met for the last lecture about the organization of the ministry of Communications in the local church. The attendees were challenged to generate self-criticism and permanently improve communication, a key instrument in fulfilling the mission of the church.
The event was attended by 43 people, 39 of them from churches of the Southern District and 4 from churches of the Northern District where they plan to repeat the training experience for these two ministries.
