(Brazil CNSAM) On Friday, January 29, 2016, Carol Jeanne Kratz finished her race on earth to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven.
At one point when she was single, a young sailor who frequented the church proposed to help in the classroom, especially to impose respect for the boys in the group. Little by little Pastor Jaime, the young marine, began to become interested in the young teacher. Everything else is history.
A couple of great influence in the lives of many Brazilians, always treated their “children of ministry” with great love and respect. They had different gifts. “Doña Carolina” as she was affectionately known, was unparalleled and never liked to be in front of large congregations, but she loved to serve in women’s ministry and children’s Sunday School. Pastor Jaime Kratz worked with young people in need who had no father present.
Carol Kratz, together with her husband, Jaime Kratz, and children went to Brazil in 1960 to serve as missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene. At that time they began a nice journey of impact in the country that they loved to serve, for more than 20 years. With their gifts dedicated to God, they formed a couple of evangelists and church planters in a formidable way. The Kratzs were pioneers and wherever they went they left sustainable churches, following the Apostle Paul’s model.
“She told us at a missionary meeting that the money that she was saving to buy curtains for their apartment was ultimately invested in a ping pong table to attract young people to the church. I think, without exaggerating that hundreds of adults who knew Jesus when they were young did so by the evangelistic effort of this couple”, said Pastor Steve Heap.
“Dona Carolina” Kratz lived in a condominium for the elderly in Bethany, Oklahoma. She had Alzheimer’s and was cared for by her family at all times. She lamented not remembering details, but still had an amazing capacity to remember the names of beloved people in Brazil. She is a confirmation of what the Bible says in Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Undoubtedly, she was received with joy and praise when she got to heaven for having been a good and faithful servant that completed her race and kept the faith. A service of celebration for her life will be held March 19, 2016 at 10 AM in the Bethany Oklahoma Church of the Nazarene. Messages to the Kratz family may be sent via e-mal: email@example.com.
