(Argentina CNSAM). From October 8-10, 2012, the 36th Symposium and Assembly of the Association of Seminaries and Theological Institutions (ASIT) was held on the Nazarene Theological Seminary campus for the Southern Cone in Buenos Aires, Argentina. ASIT celebrated their golden anniversary in a special service attended by former executive secretaries of the council. The theme of the conference was, “Theological Education as an Expression of the Mission of God.”
Approximately 50 delegates from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay participated in the workshops, plenary sessions and celebrations. Three Nazarene seminaries were represented: SENAC (Nazarene Seminary of the Central Field) with rector Macedonio Daza and academic vice-rector Carlos Dapara; SBN (Nazarene Bible Seminary of Chile) with rector Oscar Varas and Director of Institutional Development Patricio Huanca; and STN CS (Nazarene Theological Seminary of the Southern Cone) with its rector Jorge L. Julca and academic vice-rector Eduardo Velázquez.
It was a wonderful time of reflecting on the challenges and needs associated with theological education in our represented institutions.
