(Colombia CNSAM). On Thursday March 5th of 2015 the 39th Bogotá Central North Assembly in Colombia was held. Present were Dr. Jerry Porter, General Superintendent; Dr. Christian Sarmiento, Regional Director for South America; Rev. Dwight Rich, Strategy Coordinator for the Andean North Area and Rev. Luis Meza, global missionary in Colombia whom presided over the assembly. It was a time of sharing powerful testimonies and great expectations for 2015.
The district is working in three mission areas in Bogotá, and this year will be organizing the “Por su Gracia” (By His Grace) Church of The Nazarene pastored by Rev. Juan Soto and Carolina Mahecha and the “Comunidad Cristiana Nazarena de Modelia” (Nazarene Christian Community of Modelia) lead by Rev. Carlos Muñoz and Lilia Corzo working five different mission points and two schools.
“El Renuevo” (The Renewal) and “Por su Gracia” (By His Grace) churches started a work in the Suba neighborhood with their eyes on planting a new church. All the churches manifested their desire to grow their membership in 2015.
The Ordination service was held and pastors Ana Muñoz and Liliana Muñoz were ordained elders in the Church of the Nazarene.
General Superintendent Dr. Jerry Porter challenged all the pastors to plant new churches and six young men were consecrated to the Lord as they have a call to transcultural missions.
