(Venezuela CNSAM). From August 17-29, 2015, the Church of the Nazarene in Venezuela, specifically in the beautiful mountains of Nirgua, (Yaracuy State) held camps for families, children, youth, and young adults.
For approximately 31 years these Nazarene camps have taken place in Venezuela, and the year 2015 was no exception. Nearly 1,000 people from various states around the country, representing the five districts, headed toward the same place they have come year after year. First, the camp for families, children and young teens took place during the week of August 17-22. The theme was, “My Family, My Greatest Investment,” and the camp was directed by the pastoral couple Frank and Yuleyma Perdomo. The Senior High camp was held the following week from August 24-29, and the theme was, “Know, Do, and See.” National NYI leader Josué Franco directed the camp with support from the district NYI presidents.
Each group was given the opportunity to participate in various activities such as: devotionals, workshops, games, excursions, competitions, music and the Word of God. Each of the district superintendents and quite a few leaders from the church’s different ministries supported the camps.
It is a blessing to see the transformation, liberation, renovation and call on each life that attended the camp, having the firm certainty that their lives and surroundings will never be the same. This is the reason for each of these camp’s existence: to give each person the opportunity to know God, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and to be sent to share the good news of the Gospel with others.
