(Brazil CNSAM). On November 1, 2015, Rev. Aguiar Valvassora and a committee of members from the Church of the Nazarene in Brazil, celebrated the opening of a large social work in the city of Sao Raimundo Nonato where a child development center will offer social services to children with limited resources.
The center, located in the Cipó neighborhood, contains a day care which will serve hundreds of underprivileged children. It will offer medical and dental services, along with other social inclusion services like sports and entertainment. More than $250,000 has been invested in a mega structure for the child development center.
Various religious leaders from several evangelical churches in Sao Raimundo Nonato and the surrounding area accompanied by several local political leaders attended the opening ceremonies for the center. Rev. Valvassora received the city’s highest honor from the mayor Averlar Ferreira. In his message to those present, Valvassora said, “Our objective is to transform the city. We want to contribute to a world that is more just so that children grow up far from violence and drugs and closer to the Lord, our God.”
