(Brazil CNSAM) On Saturday, March 21st in the city of Londrina the 24th District Assembly was held.
The assembly was presided by the General Superintendent in jurisdiction, Dr. Jerry Porter. Also present was the Regional Director, Dr. Christian Sarmiento and the Sub regional Director, Dr. Aguiar Valvassoura. During the activity there were various notable events, including the following:
• Upon approval from the Board of General Superintendents, the Londrina District went from Phase 2 to Phase 3.
• The Rev. Eloi Lopes Moutinho retired after 29 years of ministry as District Superintendent in Curitiba and Londrina districts. He has also been the senior pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Londrina since January 1996. Pastor Eloi leaves a legacy of service, love and diligence in serving the Lord. With an unusual clarity and detachment to the new, but always keeping the focus, roots and identity of our denomination. Over the years as pastor, he has seen the church grow and establish itself as reference of faith, zeal and the proclamation of the word holiness.
• For the choosing of the new District Superintendent, Rev. Gilbert De Oliveira E Silva was elected in the first ballot with 83% of voting. Rev. Gilbert is 45 years old, married to Andreia de Araujo Silva de Oliviera, they have four children and currently Pastor the Church of Nazarene Jardim Ima in the city of Campo Grande.
• At 19:00 hours the activity closed with a service in which Dr. Jerry Porter shared the word of God and in the end the district pastors committed themselves to plant churches.
