(Costa Rica CNSAM). From September 3rd to the 13th, 2012, the first Doctor of Ministries course in a program offered by Nazarene Theological Seminary (NTS) was given to students from the Mesoamerica and South America Regions.
The program will alternate between two study centers throughout its duration: the SENDAS seminary in Costa Rica and the South American Theological Seminary in Quito, Ecuador.
The first course offered was “Wesleyan Theology for Ministry” and the teachers were Dr. Roger Hahn, Academic Dean of NTS and Dr. Jorge Julca, Regional Coordinator of Theological Education for South America. The course explored a theological and ministerial coming together in Wesleyan ecclesiology with a special emphasis upon the challenges faced by the Latin American church.
This is the second occasion that the Doctorate of Ministries Program has been offered in Latin America and this time 12 students representing 10 countries in Central America, the Caribbean and South America are enrolled in the program. The group of students is formed by leaders in pastoral, educational and administrative roles in our theological institutions.
