(Colombia CNSAM). The National District Coordinators of Evangelism met in Medellin on March 11, 2015 and began the Evangelism Training Seminars which concluded on September 4-5, 2015 in the city of Cali.
The objective was to encourage pastors and members of the local churches to develop an energetic spirit of evangelism and to motivate pastors and superintendents to foment the planting of new churches. Pastors and superintendents are being motivated to implement the goals set out by Dr. Jerry Porter’s Global Projection of Faith, Plan 2020, which he presented in past district assemblies.
Since March 11, seminars were offered in the six districts in the following cities; Monteria, Tumaco, Bucaramanga, Bogota North and South, Armenia and Cali. In each of these cities, the local churches were involved with the participation of 105 pastors and evangelism coordinators. There were seven workshops presented on the subjects of Growth in the Local Church and the Planting of New Churches with an emphasis on using the resource materials provided by the Church of the Nazarene. Other topics presented were: The Mission of the Church; Evangelism, a Priority. In addition, DEM* presented various practical strategies based on Biblical principles. The lecturers were; Rev Luis Meza, Coordinator Colombia Ministries; Pastor Milton Matheus, National Coordinator of Evangelism; and members of the National Committee of Evangelism.
