(CNSAM) From May 13 to 15 2016 in São Paulo, the National NYI Brazil Leaders Training was held. It was considered a historical event for being the first time all district leaders were present from the 18 districts of the Church of the Nazarene in Brazil. In addition, we had the presence of the National Council, leaders of national ministries of NYI Brazil, potential leaders and national leadership represented by BRAZIL NYI President, Rev. Christiano Malta, and the Executive Secretary, Thiago Niemann.
In this training, the mission and vision of NYI was transmitted, for national, district, as well as local work, focusing on Nazarene Fundamentals and in the changes that working with youth (Adolescents and Young People) have passed through with the transformations of the world mainly in the Brazilian context.
The Brazil Sub-Region Director, Rev. Manuel Lima, opened the meeting with a word of support and congratulations to the work of the NYI Brazil over the last few years. Rev. Geraldo Nunes Filho, Executive Secretary of the Church of the Nazarene in Brazil and Integral Ministries Coordinator talked about learning, encouragement and expectations for the Brazilian church in the coming years and how NYI will play a key role in this process. The South America Reginal NYI Coordinator, Rev. Jimmy de Gouveia, through video, also left his message and spoke about the ALTITUDE 16 NYI Youth Conference in South America, to be held in Brazil in the city of Campinas in October.
On the last day the entire team participated in NYI service for the Sao Paulo City District, where they celebrated a service of praise and gratitude to the Lord for this special time that NYI and the Church of the Nazarene in Brazil has passed through.
