International Women’s Day is a date that is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women on all continents, although separated by national boundaries and ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together to celebrate their day. The celebration was born in the midst of a terrible story of revolt and quest for rights.
Yet Jesus Christ – His life, His message and, especially, His example – showed that abundant life is for everyone. At a time when women were not counted, considered or heard, He stopped to listen to them, consider them and turned them into disciples, and despite not being counted and their voices not being registered, He made them overflow with hope, courage and strength.
Many women followed Jesus, cared for and shared His message because they truly recognized the love of God and their value as a woman.
Being a woman after God’s own heart in this generation is our great challenge. Only we can make a difference when, in truth, we recognize ourselves as free, loved, intelligent, helpful women able to change the world with our lives.
Our church invites you to be a woman after God’s own heart. Make a difference in your family, in your city, in your country and the world. Use your consecrated life for God, use your talent and willingness to fulfill the Great Commission.
Join forces and follow the vision of Women’s Ministry our region.
