(Venezuela CNSAM). Jiraquitó Nazarene Camp opened in 1990 in the mountains of the city of Nirgua in Yaracuy State, Venezuela, to gather Nazarenes there from around the country in various events.
In Barinas State on May 3, 2014, El Cambio (The Change) Church of the Nazarene hosted the first national assembly ” Friends of Jiraquitó.” Because of the economic situation of the Venezuelan camp, Jiraquito has suffered some maintenance problems in its infrastructure. So the body of the national church assembled – represented by Llanos District Superintendent and President of the National Board, Rev. Rafael Trejo; Lake District Superintendent Rev. Charles Lamb; Centro District Superintendent, Rev. Julio Rivera; Andino District Superintendent, Reverend Seraphim Camargo; and Pastor Edward Parada, NYI District President, led the first meeting.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of camaraderie, respect and order where all attendees proposed interventions to find solutions to the camp facilities’ conditions and thus better serve its users.
Nazarene family in Venezuela seeks to strengthen the heritage of the North American brothers who were responsible for this beautiful project that serves the church today.
Among the resolutions passed was to finalize the action plan, set for June 28, 2014, by the end of the second assembly in Jiraquito. Praise God for this initiative!
