(Paraguay CNSAM). Based on the Biblical principle: “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it”; a group of leaders from different districts in Paraguay, along with the superintendent, Rev. Barry Carney, decided to have a prayer retreat searching for direction from God.
The activity was held from November 22 to 24, 2013, in the city of San Ignacio, some 124 miles from Asunción, the capital of Paraguay. At first there were several difficulties, but they made way for a greater blessing. On the way to the retreat one of the tires on our vehicle blew out but God watched over the lives of those who were traveling.
In the retreat the presence of God worked powerfully in each one of the leaders; they prayed, they meditated in the Word and they asked for confirmation from God for a vision for the Church of the Nazarene in Paraguay. They agreed on strategies and they planned ministries. The participants returned challenged to continue extending the Kingdom of God in this beautiful country, completely convinced that God’s vision for the country is: “To be and to make Christ-like disciples throughout Paraguay”.
At the conclusion of the retreat they traveled to the city of Pilar in Paraguay to enjoy a united service with the Churches of the Nazarene in the city, and the next day a special service in the city of Encarnación.
