Pastoral Family Retreat in Northern District of Peru

(Peru CNSAM). The first Pastoral Family Retreat in Northern District of Peru was held February 23-26, 2015. This special event was organized by the Nazarene Theological Seminary of Peru (Seminario Teológico Nazareno del Perú, STNP) and the respective district mutual collaboration of academic, financial and human resources. The objectives were achieved wonderfully, among them are:

Participation by 90% of the district pastoral district families. There were 186 people in attendance – adults, adolescents and children – all members of pastoral families.

The children of pastors ministered worship and music in all services. The pastors celebrated their children’s participation with joy – to see them play instruments, sing, dramatize, do choreography, play soccer and participate in other activities during the four-day event.

Another objective was the fellowship, which became very noticeable in the dining room, informal talks, devotionals, workshops and family time.

The main theme was “Inner Transformation”, based on Romans 12: 1-2. Doctors Jonathan and Magda Salgado were exhibitors as well as giving workshops and preaching. They, with their academic experience and exemplary married life, impacted the lives of pastoral families.

The Salgados also offered marriage counseling to many pastoral couples during times available on this day; all the clergy were very grateful.

The children of pastors were divided into two main groups: young children and and adolescent youth. Pastors Robert Orrillo and Diógenes Jiménez were working with adolescents, and ministry La Nena and Friends ministered with a series of plays for the children.

The pastoral families who participated in this event celebrated together, worshiped the Lord and were fed spiritually.
