(Brazil CNSAM). With much joy for what the Lord is doing, on July 10, 2015, the electrical installation was completed on the “Jesus, the Hope!” boat.
They have been constructing this boat since 2012, when a previous vessel was seriously damaged in a storm on the Negro River, a tributary of the Amazon River. This happened in October of 2010 when it was taking a group of 40 people on a missionary trip. Even though it was a big storm and the captain of the boat asked the passengers to put on their life jackets because the boat was going to sink, God protected them and there were no victims.
Rev. Manuel Lima, Superintendent of the Amazonia District, says that “now they are expecting a miracle”. He says that because the next phase requires a motor, a transmission and a generator. These will cost $46,000 (Motor $23,000; Transmission $16,000; Generator $7,000).
Pastor Lima is convinced that God will provide the necessary funds to finish the construction of this watercraft which will be used for evangelization and social action in the coastal communities.
