(CNSAM Brazil) Contagem is a municipality in the state of Minas Gerais in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, site chosen to receive on July 8th and 9th more than 160 teachers and leaders at the Congress for the ministries of Sunday School & Discipleship International (SDMI). The city with the third largest population in the state of Minas Gerais received Nazarenes from Montes Claros, Governador Valadares, Capitão Andrade, Divinópolis, Igarapé, Ibirité, Jardim Alvorada, Riacho, Barroca, Goiânia, Floramar, Betel, Juliana, Itatiaia and Ouro Preto.
The event began on Friday with the Word preached by Pastor Élcio Lourencini, then on Saturday morning, a devotional with the Rev. Patricia Picavea preceded two thematic workshops: ‘Tell the Story and Creative Classroom Dynamics.’ Highly relevant content and very efficient tools were presented to participants. Through the lecture ‘The Word is not bound’, Lydia Fossali – APEC Missionary – challenged participants to teach the word of God daily with a focus on transforming lives.
The congress ended with the Rev. Patricia Picavea and sister Galdina Arrais sharing testimonies and encouraging all to stand firm on his/her calling, being true disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Church of the Nazarene prays that God blesses all participants and that they be multipliers of all knowledge available and taught during the two-day congress.
