(Argentina CNSAM). On Saturday, March 22, at 7:30 a.m., the Rev. Alberto Giménez, age 58, left to be with the Lord. Husband, father and grandfather, this man had a long history of service to God and the Church of the Nazarene, beginning in the province of Formosa where he was Superintendent of the Mesopotamian zone of Argentina .
Recently he had been serving as coordinator of evangelism in Argentina, and with his wife Graciela Motta and their daughter Gladys, pastoring the Church of the Nazarene in Bragado, Buenos Aires and also, for the fifth consecutive year, serving as president of the pastoral council of that city.
The testimonials about brother Alberto speak of a serene, peacekeeping man with a blameless life, ready to serve at all times. He had the profile of those people who you would want to have on your team, not to be one of those who were in front, but covering the back, encouraging and supporting, continuing to expand the Kingdom. Since the beginning, he helped so much in the planting of several churches in the area.
At the funeral service his wife said, “…in his last minutes of life… I saw that he was stretching his right arm up… closed his hand like holding something and closed his eyes forever… I think he saw Jesus or an angel holding his hand.”
