(Venezuela CNSAM). From May 26-30, 2014, the National Susana Wesley Educational Unit celebrated its 17th anniversary.
The Susana Wesley School is a ministry of the Church of the Nazarene in Machiques, Venezuela (in the state of Zulia). The assistant director, María Isabel Acosta de Chávez, commented that the school began in 1997 with 20 students, pre-school (4 year olds) and first grade. The teachers then were the current assistant director and Irélida Corona, the current Education Coordinator. There are now 23 teachers who instruct the 336 students enrolled in the school.
The chosen theme for the celebration this year was recycling, so the annual parade used discarded material for decoration. The parade was led by the institution’s directors in conjunction with the Vida Nueva Church of the Nazarene. Representative children from the school, firemen and city officials also joined the march through the main streets of Machiques.
