(Argentina CNSAM). The city of Federacion, in the province of Entre Rios, Argentina, was the site of the superintendents’ retreat for the Southern Cone Field, which includes the countries of Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.
During the three day event, held May 29th to the 30th, the superintendents and their wives were ministered to by Dr. David Busic, president of Nazarene Theological Seminary. The group was also accompanied by Field Strategy Coordinator Juan Jose Zani, South America Regional Director Dr. Christian Sarmiento, and other leaders.
While the focus of the retreat was principally pastoral, it also provided the opportunity for forums and dialogues regarding the superintendence and the presentation of an argentine national project that is also to be adopted by the other countries.
“Church Factory”, a project presented and coordinated by the Southern Cone Field, seeks to provide a way for local churches to install a roof inexpensively. The roofs will be financed by forming a cooperative team of the local church, the district, the Southern Cone Field and other available resources. Buildings help us in our work of making and developing disciples. Planting many churches implies they will need a place to meet. The systemization of building construction, which has challenged us to launch the so called “Church Factory”, attempts to cover strictly the administrative and systematic needs of the available funds and resources.
The Church Factory project is already in the hands of the superintendents who will be in charge of initiating negotiations to form these alliances.
Thanks be to God the church in the Southern Cone not only continues to move forward, but is being strengthened.
