(CNSAM Brazil) In the early hours of last Sunday, June 5, 2016 the city of Campinas, faced a storm with winds of 120 km / h (75 mph). The districts most affected by the winds were Taquaral, Vila Nogueira and Sousas.
It is estimated that more than 100 trees fell, there were floods in 11 points, many houses with roofs partially torn off, families were displaced and about a hundred thousand people were left without light during the early hours of Saturday to Sunday.
The Hope Community Church of the Nazarene could not have their services as normal because the church structure was affected. Additionally, the Jaime Kratz Educational Institute was affected by falling trees, but without injuries. Another Church of the Nazarene in Vila Nogueira neighborhood, where many suffered material losses, had the opportunity to support and show the compassionate Gospel to those residents.
The rains continue. Let us continue praying for the families who have suffered throughout the metropolitan region of Campinas.
