(CNSAM Chile) On Saturday, May 28, 2016, Chile NMI and the Church of the Nazarene in Hualpen held a Missionary Conference, which is a direct fruit of the Regional Missionary Conference “Proclaim His Glory,” which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in April 2016.
The special speakers in the conference in Hualpen were Brazilian missionary, Thais Ribeiro, Chile National NMI/Mobilization Coordinator, Ruth Bravo, and the keynote speakers were Mario and Irma Martinez who are Global Missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene currently serving in Guinea Bissau, Africa. There were more than 110 people in attendance from the different churches on the district, all the way from youth up to seniors.
The time was filled with the challenge to involve the church in missions, from the local church to international missions. Missionaries Mario and Irma Martinez enriched the conference through sharing the Word of God, experiences from the mission field, and responding to questions from youth who have a call to serve in missions. The finale of the conference was to receive an offering that will cover one monthly of salary for a teacher in the Nazarene School in Guinea Bissau, where classes are offered free for the students. The Martinez also had the opportunity to share in several other local churches: Friday the 27th in the Boca Sur Church, Sunday the 29th in the morning they gave wonderful classes in the Church in Hualpen and then that evening shared in the Church at Villa Cap.
We are sure that this is only the beginning of an awaking about missions in Chile. We thank the local church, local pastor and his NMI council who worked faithfully so that this time would be a blessing for all involved.
