(Chile CNSAM). On Sunday, December 7, 2014, in the Nazarene Church in the community of Vitacura, in the city of Santiago the XXXI Chile Central District Assembly was held along with the ordination service.
On this occasion, the Assembly was attended by the General Superintendent in Jurisdiction, Dr. Jerry Porter, who was accompanied by the Regional Director, Dr. Christian Sarmiento, and the Field Strategy Coordinator of the Southern Cone, Rev. Juan José Zani.
Dr Porter delivered the message to the pastors and those in attendance in the Assembly, encouraging them to work with more effort. He referred to the beginning of the early church and the work of the apostle Paul who had to face various difficulties. But perseverance, obedience, love for the lost and an absolute dependence on the Holy Spirit were the component that made it possible that the church of that time to be raised up everywhere with the powerful message of the gospel of Christ. He challenged the pastors to work towards creating new churches in the district. Each pastor was asked to make a note places where they could open new churches on a piece of paper. At the end everyone present met together in a special prayer for those places, and committed to working to achieve this task and asking for god’s help to reach the lost.
The District Assembly had a great closing, the ordination service of the elders: Patricia Mtamala (Rancagua), Maria Cortés (Viña del Mar), Susana Castillo (Santiago Centro) and Patricio Huanca (San Ramón). We congratulate the pastors who received such an important recognition of their pastoral ministry.
